Refunds, Terms and Privacy

Refund Policy
Your US$10 Founder Reservation is fully refundable on request at any time until it is credited toward a purchase.
How to request a refund
Email marcus@takemantle.com from the address you reserved with. Your Stripe receipt also identifies the payment. We initiate refunds to your original payment method within 5 business days of receiving your request. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund.
If M∆NTLE does not reach production
If M∆NTLE does not reach production, every reservation is refunded in full.
What Production Confirmation means
"Production Confirmation" means the email notice sent to reservation holders confirming the final product specifications, the final early-bird price, estimated production timing, and the next step required to turn a reservation into an order. The notice will give a reasonable response period and state the deadline for confirming or cancelling. No further charge occurs before that notice is sent and you have had the chance to confirm or cancel.
What the reservation is not
The Founder Reservation is a refundable reservation only. It is not a preorder, not a purchase, and not a guarantee of delivery at any specific time. No ship date is being committed at this stage.
Earlier reservations
Reservations placed before this policy took effect, under the earlier C$5 Founder Reservation, remain fully refundable on the terms in effect when they were placed.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe and charged in US dollars. We never see or store your card details. Your card issuer may apply its own currency conversion or foreign transaction fees. For any payment issue, contact marcus@takemantle.com.

Who operates this site
This website, the M∆NTLE Launch List and the M∆NTLE Founder Reservation are operated by 16442641 Canada Inc. under the M∆NTLE brand ("we", "us"). By using this site, joining the Launch List or placing a reservation, you agree to these terms.
The Founder Reservation
- A Founder Reservation is a US$10 refundable payment that reserves the early-bird price for one M∆NTLE unit from a potential first production run.
- Early-bird price: the expected retail price is US$999. The early-bird price for reservation holders will be US$799 or less. The final early-bird price is confirmed in the Production Confirmation notice, once production costs are known, and will not be higher than US$799.
- Credit: your US$10 is credited toward your M∆NTLE purchase. If M∆NTLE is first offered through a crowdfunding platform where a direct credit is not possible, you will receive an equivalent discount or credit, or a full refund of your US$10, at your choice.
- A reservation does not automatically become an order. You decide whether to buy after Production Confirmation.
- One reservation reserves one unit. Reservations are not transferable.
Product descriptions and images
Images on this site are labelled as a functional prototype, a design render, or a future direction. Product images, renders, prototypes, descriptions, features, materials, dimensions and timelines are preliminary and may change before production. Weight, final dimensions, materials and finish are not yet confirmed on a finished unit. Nothing on this site is a final production specification unless confirmed in a Production Confirmation notice. M∆NTLE does not include a laptop, monitor, tablet, cables or other electronics.
Final pricing may not include applicable taxes, shipping, duties or other charges unless the Production Confirmation notice states otherwise.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement to place a reservation. Reservations are intended for individuals, not resellers.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise noted, the content on this site, including the M∆NTLE name, wordmark, product imagery and text, is owned by or licensed to 16442641 Canada Inc. and may not be reproduced without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 16442641 Canada Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this site, joining the Launch List or placing a reservation. Where permitted by law, our total liability for a Founder Reservation is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba, Canada, and disputes are resolved in the courts of Manitoba. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer protection rights that cannot be waived in your jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes that affect reservation holders will be sent to them by email, and will not reduce their refund rights.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Launch List: your email address and the date you gave consent.
- How you found us: the campaign or website that referred you (for example, advertising campaign tags in the link you clicked) and when you first visited. This is stored with a random identifier created in your browser, not with your name.
- Reservation: your email address, name and billing details entered at checkout, and the amount paid. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Survey: the answers you choose to give. Every question except two is optional.
- Whether you viewed the reservation terms before reserving, recorded as a yes or no.
We do not currently use advertising pixels, analytics cookies or session recording on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated to name each tool before it is used.
How we use it
To send you the updates you asked for, to administer your reservation (confirmation, refunds, Production Confirmation), to understand which campaigns and messages bring interested people, and to decide what M∆NTLE becomes. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Joining the Launch List means you agree to receive M∆NTLE product and launch updates from 16442641 Canada Inc. Placing a reservation also means you receive transactional emails about it. Every update email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribe requests are honoured within 10 business days.
Service providers
We use these providers to run the site and store the information above. Some store data outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union.
- Stripe (payments)
- Cloudflare (website hosting)
- Airtable (secure storage of sign-ups, reservations and survey answers)
- Acumbamail (email list and updates)
- Resend (reservation confirmation emails)
How long we keep it
As long as needed to run the Launch List and administer reservations, and as required for financial record-keeping. If you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, we remove your data except what we must keep for records of payments and refunds.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time by emailing marcus@takemantle.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws.
